『Seminar on Cities Exchanges and Cross-Strait Relations』

As a result of the “9-in-1” local government elections of November 2019 in Taiwan, the opposition party Kuomintang won the majority of local counties and cities. Hence, exchanges of city mayors and county magistrates with Chinese counterparts have become an indicator and a grave focus for the Cross-Strait relations. Bearing in mind that there is no clear-cut redline for local governments to engage in exchanges with the other side of Taiwan Strait, local government governance has become of one of immediate issues.

With that, as a non-partisan think tank, the Institute for National Policy Research would like to sponsor the seminar of “Cities Exchanges and Cross-Strait Relations”, in an attempt to forge a consensus on the essential subject. Invited guest speakers include Chairman of Mainland Affairs Council Dr. Chen, Ming-tong, Ex-Premier Dr. Chang, San-cheng, Deputy Mayor of Kaohsiung Dr. Yeh, Knang-Shih and others.
