The 2018 Asia-Pacific Think-tank Summit The Asia-Pacific region is witnessing great changes. The U.S. primacy is no longer as powerful as it was before, especially since it pulled off from the TPP. The most important issue today appears to be the U.S. – China trade war. There is also the question of technological warfare going on between the U.S., Europe, Japan, Korea and China. Besides, many countries seem to have entered a period of strategic competition with China. Among other significant challenges for the stability of the region stand the disputes over the control of the maritime domains from the South China Sea to the Malacca Strait.
